Volkswagen Autoeuropa wished to find an alternative solution that would not require the destruction of 6 vehicles every year. This new procedure should also significantly optimize analysis time of the quality of welds, have potential for standardization within the Volkswagen Group, be applicable in an industrial environment, at reduced cost and return on investment within a period of less than a year.
The winning project, which brought aviation technology into automotive industry, was awarded a 5,000 euros prize. The winning solution was provided by a research team of the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia of Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
The platform provided by InoCrowd enabled Volkswagen Autoeuropa to access knowledge and skills that were not available within your organization.
